High Five - with Beth

My second layout for February. :)

I printed these photos off ages ago, but I never had a good plan in my head for them, so they sad in my photo box, waiting patiently.

Then I got my order of chevron bags and inspiration struck!

I really like the chevron bags, and I seem to use them on most of my layouts.

I had the journaling away on a little tag inside the vellum envelope.

See you again next month! :)

You Colour My Word - with Beth

My turn again! I seriously love creating for D-lish Scraps. I don't know if I've told you this, but my favourite part of scrapbooking is the 'puzzle' of putting it together. The moving stuff around until I'm happy with it... of course then when I go to stick it all down, I end up measuring it wrong and things are off centre! But not to worry, because it's still fun to play regardless!

My first layout his month involves groupings of colours.

Happy day .. with Alz

Morning all!

I'm here with something 'krafty' as promised yesterday. I created the following layout for the Kraft It Up challenge this month.

Happy day

Now this next bit is going to take a while because I used lots, and I mean lots, of D-lish Scraps products on this page so please bear with me LOL .. Hand Dyed Muslin (blue), 18mm Glass CabachonsPVC Doilies (white), 3.5" round Paper DoiliesFreckled Fawn Paper Clips (arrows), Freckled Fawn Wood Chips (hearts), Journal Its Colour Journal Spots (everyday kraft cards), an antique bronze heart Bobby Pin, chipboard and metal anchors from the Out to Sea Just Add Paper Kit, gold glitter canvas tape, gold tiny star sequins, gold glitter and gold pearls from the All That Glitters Just Add Paper Kit, and a flair button and crocheted items from an old (now out of stock) Just Add Paper Kit.

I'm totally loving the Glass Cabachons on this beach themed layout and can't wait to use them on another layout with a different effect! The antique bronze heart Bobby Pin I filled with Glossy Accents, then I generously sprinkled the gold tiny star sequins and gold glitter over the top. Once dry it could be left as it was for a really sparkly effect, however I added Glossy Accents over the top to tone it down just a tad. And again I've used the off-cuts from my gold glitter canvas tapes as wee triangles rather than throwing them in the trash. I loved, loved, loved creating this layout; and I loved the fact that I could create all of this with just some old patterned paper and cardstock scraps, mixed media products and D-lish Scraps embellishments!!!

Looking forward to chatting with you all again next month. Til then stay calm and scrap!!!!

Cheers .. Alz    :)

Be free .. with Alz

I'm back with more inspiration from the Lilac Haze Just Add Paper Kit ..

Be free

Instead of 'just adding paper' I added lots mixed media LOL! Oh and a wee bit of paper. But otherwise its all from the Lilac Haze Just Add Paper Kit. I smeared a little white gesso on the flowers to 'shabby them up' a little, painted the chipboard frames white, and otherwise used up the adhesive pearls, flairs and bows etc from what was left of the kit from yesterday's layout "Free spirit". Oh and I wanted to use some thread (not a lot) but I didn't want to use the cotton baker's twine as it was in the kit. The solution for that was easier than I thought, I simply separate the purple colour I wanted from the white! Simples!!!

I think that's it for me and purple for a wee while. I can feel something 'krafty' coming up. Stay tuned, and 'til tomorrow, happy scrapping!

Cheers .. Alz   :)

PS: Have you checked out this month's Just Add Paper Kit yet??

Free spirit .. with Alz

Morning all!

After taking it easy yesterday and keeping things quick and simple I'm back today with something in my usual style of scrapping and my one big scrapping passion .. mixed media!

Free spirit
published in Scrapbooking Memories Volume 17 No. 6

I created this layout for the 123 Challenge blog of which I'm a Design Team member. Luckily for me January's Lilac Haze Just Add Paper Kit from D-lish Scraps tied in perfectly with the challenge criteria!

Other than my alphas and my mixed media background, I've 'added some paper' and only used a few bits and pieces from the kit. I have loads of products left over so stay tuned for another layout using the Lilac Haze Just Add Paper Kit tomorrow!

Cheers .. Alz   :)

Taking it easy .. with Alz

Heh girls (and guys)!

Do you ever want to scrap but just don't have the energy or much in the way of motivation? Or do you sometimes get a little bored with what you're doing, say a little tired of your usual paper crafting style? Maybe sometimes you have something you have to do (like make a card) and you really just can't be bothered? LOL I'll confess that sometimes I feel all of the above and then some! If, like me, you just can't go a day without doing something creative, what can you do about it? Me? I'll scrap in a different style or size than usual, or do something different like hybrid scrapping or creating. You know, mix things up a little. There's nothing like whipping up a few quick projects and having that sense of accomplishment to refresh and reignite the creative mojo.

Seasons
favourite season (of course I couldn't choose just one!)

The above 8.5x11" (or thereabouts) page was made for my 2011/2014 Favourites Journal (I mentioned the Journal in my last post for January). Its a really simple, fairly basic page where I've used the coffee Hand Dyed Muslin as a backdrop for the small Vellum Bags, each of which holds a photo of the same tree taken during each of the four different seasons. Its a really pretty nectarine (?) tree which used to overhang our fence at our old place in inner city Melbourne and I knew that one day I wanted to scrap photos taken of it throughout the year. Because I couldn't choose a favourite season they were perfect for this page and my D-lish Scraps stash was perfect for finding the little bits and pieces to decorate each bag without adding unnecessary bulk and also keeping the layout looking cohesive at the same time.

The D-lish Scraps products I've used include .. Washi Tape, clear Motex Tape, white PVC Doilies, small Vellum Bags, Memory Maze Chipboard (Rows of Birds), coffee Hand Dyed MuslinBitty Blooms in various colours, Freckled Fawn Wood Chips (Hearts), Freckled Fawn Paper Clips (Silver Arrows), Journal Its by Star (Kraft Word Tickets), various Flag & Flair Packs, and Wood Veneer Flowers.

I wasn't happy to leave my "taking it easy" scrapping at just the one 8.5x11" journal page so also decided to whip up some quick hybrid cards. I was already behind in my card making having to make two birthday cards so figured if I was making two, why not make half a dozen and rather than doing the whole usual stamping and colouring thing, scour the Internet for some free digital printables.

I downloaded and printed images from Kate Hadfield Designs at The Wood Connection and Teeny Tiny Cards by Kolette Hall. I used some markers to colour in sections of the Teeny Tiny Cards, adhered my digital printables to some cardstock and then set about embellishing them with bits and pieces from my D-lish Scraps stash.

These cards came together so quickly and easily I am 100% converted to hybrid card making! I've used the following D-lish Scraps products on my cards .. Washi Tape, red Motex TapePVC doilies, hot pink and aqua Sequins, a hot pink 30mm Double Layered Crochet Flower, flowers from various Resin Grab Bags, Freckled Fawn Enamel Dew Drops (Black/Grey/White), Paper Clips (Silver Arrows) and Wood Chips (Birds), Skipping 5 Puffy Things (Woodgrain Hearts), various Bitty Blooms, a bow from the Resin Whimsy Bow Grab Bag, a bottle cap from the Heart Mix Bottle Caps, a Paper DoileyJournal Its by Star (Round & Rounds brights, Sweet Talkers pastel) and Carnival Tickets. Phew! LOL!

Now that I've recharged my mojo I'll be back tomorrow with something mixed media to share.

Cheers .. Alz   :)

Coffee Date - with Karyn!

Hi D-Lish Lovelies!

I'ts Karyn here with my last share for the month!

The background of the scrapbook page I'm showing you today has been created by spraying mists, stencilling with inks and stamping -  using the gorgeous purple and teal colour scheme.

Most of the embellishments used on this page are from the Lilac haze Just Add Paper Kit.

These photos are of my eldest daughter Rachael. Being the eldest she misses spending time with just her and me, so on this day we had a special Coffee Date together.
I've matted my photos over some patterned papers and a white paper heart doilie from my stash. I also used some stamps on the photos.
I used lots of goodies from the Lilac haze Just Add Paper Kit on this page.

In the top right corner I added a nested frame from the kit that had been sprayed with teal Dylusions. I also added one of the flair, a lavender resin butterfly, an aqua bitty bloom, some purple twine, and an adhesive pearl - all from the Kit.
In this cluster I've used a violet old fashioned rose, a purple mini metal flower, lavender bitty bow, self adhesive pearls, aqua bitty bloom, chevron button, and purple resin flower all from the Lilac haze Just Add Paper Kit. I also added a chevron Journal Spot and a teal flower from my stash.
I added a title using some Thickers that I had painted with purple and teal Dylusions - I just love how they turned out! Finally I added the date using a roller date stamp.

Just Be You - With Karyn!

Hi D-Lish Lovelies!

I'ts Karyn here with another scrapbook share for you today!

For today's scrapbook page I've creating another fun background by spraying mists, stencilling with inks and stamping. But this time I've used purple and teal - colours from the Lilac haze Just Add Paper Kit. I often use teal but I rarely use lilac/purple. Now I'm in love with these colours!! Once again I just love the look of my background so I just added some embellishments and tags - no patterned papers!

These photos are of my youngest daughter Jessica. She was playing in her cubby house kitchen making me a sawdust muffin - I captured these with my zoom lens while she was busy.
I used lots of goodies from the Lilac haze Just Add Paper Kit on this page - I just love these kits, everything is coordinated - makes scrapbooking easier!

In the bottom right corner I added the date using my roller date stamp. I sprayed one of the nested frames from the Kit with purple Dylusions and added some strips of washi tape and an adhesive pearl (the purple polka dot tape and the pearls are from the Kit).
In this cluster I've used the aqua shabby chiffon flower, a violet old fashioned rose, lavender resin butterfly, purple mini metal flower, lavender bitty bow, self adhesive pearls, "lovely" Journal It tag, and flair - all from the Lilac haze Just Add Paper Kit. I also added a white Daisy and a Metal Filligree leaf.
In a cluster at the top of the photo I added a white Azalea, a blue Cosmos Daisytwo small Metal Filligree leaves, an aqua Viola, and a purple cabachon Resin Flower. I also added a dragonfly button from my stash.
I layered my photos on a white paper doilie, a glassine bag and tag from my stash. I've also used some stamps on my photos. The purple twine is from the Lilac haze Just Add Paper Kit.
I added a title using some alphas from my stash and attached an aqua bitty bloom from the Kit.

Sweet Child Of Mine - with Karyn!

Hi D-Lish Lovelies!

I'ts Karyn here again with another scrapbook share for you today!

I've just loved creating backgrounds for my scrapbook pages recently. I've used a similar technique on this page as for my last post with spraying, stencilling and stamping. I just love the funky grungy look and didnt want to cover it up - I've added no patterned papers!

I've used pink and orange on this page - colours I would not normally use but I just love the outcome!

I layered my photo over a white paper heart doilie, chevron bag and tag (from my stash) then I added lots of yummy D-lish Scraps embellishments. The pink fabric tape is from the Neon Pop Just Add Paper Kit.
I wrote my journalling on a chevron Journal Spot and clustered a pink 30mm Double Crocheted flower, a white Forget Me Not, white Lilly, orange Cosmos Daisie, pink Polka Dot Heart Button, funky heart Wooden button, and pink neon resin heart.
For the title I used a word sticker and my Motex tape writer with pink tape. I also added a Happy Day arrow sticker from my stash and pink Wooden Shapes sunglasses.
Around the photo I added a silver freckled fawn paperclip, some Washi (on the tag), rainbow Tickets and black Tiny Girl Cabochon. I also used some stamps from my stash.
On the top left of the page I added some neon Freckled fawn Dew Drops and Acrylic Splat Beads. On the top right of the page I added a Ticket with the date stamped using a roller date stamp. I then clustered a pink crochet flowers, an orange polkadot button, and a pink Moustache Bead.

Happiness Is this - With Karyn!

Hello D-Lish lovelies!

I'ts Karyn here with a scrapbook page to show you today.

I've been scrapping and SMASH*ing Christmas projects for the last 2 months so for this page I really enjoyed finding a non-Christmas photo and trying out some different mixed media techniques.

To make the background for this page I started by painting Gesso over my entire page and letting it dry. I then sprayed some green Dylusions over a large section of my page and in the bottom corner then tipped the page so the spray would drip/run. Once this was dry I randomly added a few sprays of yellow Dylusions then tipped my page so the spray would run also. I then added some spats of red and pink Dylusions randomly across the page. Once this was completely dry I sponged over a stencil with a grey inkpad in a few places. Then I stamped a few background stamps randomly.

***Photos removed pending publication***

Next it was time to layer some papers. I delved into my paper stash and chose some October Afternoon Sidewalks papers - I love the colours and patterns on these papers! I also added some paper doilies.

The next fun part was to add lots of yummy D-lish Scraps embellishments. I wrote my journalling on a chevron Journal Spot and clustered a yellow fancy edge pick 'n' place bow, a yellow Crocheted Mini Bloom and a white Forget Me Not. I added an adorable wooden deer button near the photo and for my title I used a Heidi Swapp word sticker and some alphas from my stash.

In the bottom corner of the page I added a micros feathers (sprayed with blue Colorshine), a white Forget Me Not, a blue Cherry Blossom, a yellow polkadot button, and a green resin mini daisy. I also added a coloured doily from my stash and I used a roller date stamp.

Near the photo I clustered a large seagreen Old Fashioned Rose, green polkadot button, cream Cosmos Daisies, blue Lillies, a blue Resin Flower, and another micros feathers (sprayed with blue Colorshine).

Lastly I added a yellow Forget me nots  and a  white bitty blooms at the top.

Hi again D-lish fans,
Today I have a layout and a video tutorial for you (which will be up shortly).
Like the layout I did a couple of months ago this one features a collage of Bitty Blooms.
Take a look.

 {LAYOUT REMOVED FOR PUBLICATION}

As you can see I've opted for a pink and purple colour scheme this time and have arranged it in a different shape.

For more on my process please watch this video I put together.
I will have it up later tonight or tomorrow as it takes hours to upload and edit, sorry.

Share with Sophie {Cards and Gift Wrapping}

Hi all,
Hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day.
In the spirit of gift giving I have for you a few cards and gift wrapping ideas.

Baby Girl
The first card is very simple. I used washi tape and a daisy bead I found in the store.
Products I've used: Daisy BeadsMotex Pink Tape

Birthday Girl Card and Gift
For this card I created a collage of Bitty Blooms and sprayed some mist over the top.
I used a chevron bag as an envelope/gift bag and also popped in a gift voucher. I tied some twine around it and threaded some buttons and a bead through it.
I don't know about you but this looks a lot cuter than a plain envelope.

Birthday Girl Doily Card

Birthday Boy Card and Gift
For this gift bag I simply folded the bag over and stuck it down with washi tape.

I think this is a great thing to do if your giving money or a gift card. Usually I receive or give them in envelopes but this way you can still give a gift wrapped present.

For the card I have used washi tape and a Journal It's flag to create the banner.

Thanks for stopping by the blog!

Smash design team share with Kaitlynne

Hey there D-Lish fans!

Kaitlynne here again, this time to share a double SMASH page. I have shared quite a few pages from my daughters SMASH book and today I have the last page. That's right its finished...yay!

One of the things I found difficult was there was a lot of purple in this book. My least fave colour to scrap with. But I found it was made so much easier with neutral coloured embellishments.

Here take a look...

Lots of lovely D-Lish goodies teamed with a few cut outs made on my Silhouette Cameo.

Here is the complete spread:

I've found that I have used a lot of Kraft throughout this album as well as the wood veneers for simple yet effective embellishing.

The D-Lish goodies I have used are:
Bitty Blooms, Silver Adhesive Pearls, White PVC Doilys, Freckled Fawn paper clip, Heart and Flower wood veneer shape, Mini wooden peg, and Hand dyed lacey daisies.

Next time you have a colour that is difficult to work with why not add some neutral embellishments.

That's it from me for this month. Be sure to pop back in to see what the other Designers are up to.
Thanks for stopping in.

February Design team share with Kaitlynne Roil

Hi there D-Lish scrappers!

Kaitlynne here with a layout to share.
If you have read some of my posts before you will see I am all about getting things done quickly. Sometimes, when inspiration eludes me...I turn to Pinterest.
Anything from a colour combination, sketch, technique or beautiful layout can take my eye.
This time, I was inspired by a layout.

I never copy, but use it as a stepping stone to a completed layout. I used some gorgeous D-Lish goodies to match the colours in my photo to really make my layout pop.

Here is my Layout - One Fine Day

I rarely create a layout with some scattered Resin Flowers or Bitty blooms. They are without a doubt some of my favourite D-Lish products...those and Washi!!
Have I inspired you to take this layout and turn it into something of your own?

The D-Lish products I have used are :

Thanks for stopping by and if you create something similar let me know, and I will pop by.

Soon to be Parents (by Kayla)

Back again!
I have scheduled these posts so although you are seeing them now I have actually written them in January. Reason being is (I should) by now have my baby in my arms. This is what I created the page about. I had some lovely maternity photos taken by my sister in January and I loved the ones of my partner and I. This is our first baby, so we are becoming parents for the first time!

I really wanted a lot of embellishments on this page and I decided to create a mini 'clotheslines' of sorts where I could 'hang' embellishments underneath the photos.
I must admit that I am shocking at scrapbooking more than one photo on a page, so to have three is some kind of record!

I really love to embellish and especially with lots of little trinkets, so at D-Lish Scraps - I am like a kid in a candy store.

Here is a list of the products I have used for this layout:

Thanks for looking.
