Dream in Colour.... by Cindy

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today for my very last post for D-lish Scraps... it has been an fabulous year sharing my creations with you all...
for my last share I have created a canvas "Dream in Colour"

I love creating mixed media canvas' like this...

I used some of the Bronze Metal Daisies to decorate this canvas...  I painted them up with some silks...

I placed a flair button onto a metal filigree doily(which I again painted)...

I used the Scrap FX words of wisdom stencil for even more texture... I really love this stencil...
and finally, I used some coloured wire and mini heart sequins...

Thank you all for popping by the blog over my time on the design team, and a huge thank you for all your lovely comments.  Thank you Amanda for having me on such a wonderful team, I have really loved my time with D-lish...

Well I guess that's it from me... I hope you've been inspired,

Love This - with Katie

So, as Sunday is the last day of the weekend this is my last post with D-lish Scraps. It has been a wonderful time shared with some amazing designers and an outstanding boss! Thanks Amanda for giving my this opportunity and you know that I will continue to be a supporter of all your goodies.

So, for my final share I have a fun page created using primarily bitty bags and mini doilies for colour. I think this page is all about using my favourite things and a little bit of experimenting!

The bitty bags are great for layering, and since my photos were fairly neutral in colour, I could use plenty of colour behind them. I then picked some of the same colours from my mini doily collection to layer with the bags, and also create a visual triangle to draw your eye around the page.

I pulled out this sweet wood veneer heart and decided to bling it up with sequins. It was a simple process of covering the heart with a good tacky glue and then layering the sequins in rows in shape with the heart. And I have to say I am pretty pleased with the result!

Chipboard words are a great way to add a title without trying, this one is from Memory Maze, but there is plenty to choose from in the store! Here I coloured the chipboard with black ink to make it stand out, much quicker than painting. Also sticking out from behind my photos is a Journal It journal spot, my go to favourite way to journal! Have you got your hands on some of the enamel shapes yet? The sweet little heart is from one of the packs. I love these shapes for adding little bits of colour in amongst the layers.

Sprinkled around the page are tabs from various monochrome journal packs, these are great way to create more layering, and I even created file folders (of sorts) by sealing the top of the bitty bags to create a rectangular shape and stapling on the tabs. If you find that you don't have quite the right words on the tab simply add a word sticker (or even wordfetti) over the top, or even create what you want from your motex labeller! To finish off I have added a sweet resin heart onto one of the tabs to continue the heart motif on the page. You can also see the soft pink hearts in the background, created using a Scrap FX stencil and distress ink.

That completes my shares for this month and my time at D-lish Scraps, thanks for joining me on this journey and I will be sure to be around in the Scrap Suite!

Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful - with Katie

Thank goodness it is the weekend I say! I am hoping to scrap up a storm this weekend, now let's see if I can actually make good on that.

If you are looking for something to inspire you this weekend check out the challenges in the current cyber crop. My page today has been inspired by one of these challenges, set by Sonia. The challenge was to take inspiration from a picture and quote and 'run with it'.

The quote - "Be your own kind of beautiful" was my main inspiration (and also title) and I worked with some of the colours in the picture too. This is what I created:

Recently I have been playing around with brush script using water colours and I decided that the quote was something that I could play with, but instead of using paint I used masking fluid to write with and then added colour over the top. After removing the masking fluid I was left with the words in white which makes a striking contrast. And because this was so bright and colourful I decided to keep the rest of the page fairly neutral.

Here you can see a close up of my brush script inspired title card. Not perfect, but definitely one of a kind to suit the project! Not to mention fun to create.

I decided that I needed a little bit of interest on the background and used a Scrap FX stencil with a similar quote and some texture paste that I coloured using the same blue that is on the title card. Tucked up behind the photo block and title card is a pretty mini doily (fast becoming one of my new favourites!) layered with a sequin bow and a flair and some chipboard from a previous Just Add Paper kit.

The photos were layered on a cut up piece of a 5x7 paper bag, larger doily and some gold punchinella, these are all great things to use for layering. Then to this block I have added a little enamel shape, a cabochon heart and a chalkboard tab.

So, that is my take on the inspiration. I hope you have a look at the challenge too and maybe have a go, there is still plenty of time to get your entries in. To join the facebook group and see all the challenges and inspiration just click the button in the side bar.

Sweet - with Katie

Good Morning and happy Friday! Today brings with it the beginning of my last shares for D-lish Scraps. Wow! A year has flown past so quickly, and while it is sad to be moving on, I am sure that the wonderful Amanda will have some fabulous new people to inspire you next month. And I for one cannot wait to see who they are!

But before we get there, I have a few final shares to show you, and hopefully inspire you one last time. My first page this month has been inspired by the current cyber crop challenge set by Carol. This one was to use non-conventional materials to stamp with or use as masks/stencils. Now I like a good challenge, and I restricted myself even further to only using D-lish goodies, and this is what I came up with:

Now, can you guess what materials I used and how?!  Well, I started with some punchinella and used it with some distress ink (the pretty new coral colour), and I also used it with some texture paste for a layered effect.

Next I grabbed some mini doilies and placed them around my page and sprayed over them, so used them as masks. The great thing about doing this is I used white ones that are now a lovely shade of mint and ready to be used on another project! And the also work with the cute doily tags that are new in the shop too!

Here you can see the little black dots a little closer. To do these I glued a sequin onto the end of a paintbrush and used it as a stamp, you can see the shape came out pretty well too!

Can you see the pretty coral tulle under my photo? Well I used this to stamp also, just with some black ink to add to the layering and provide some contrast.

You can probably see some of my other favourites being used on the page too! I have a 5x7 paper bag, Flair Button, Journal It's (both for journalling and recording my date!), Resin Bow, Freckled Fawn wood veneer, Pink Fresh Studio enamel frame, Dusty Attic chipboard, and also from a previous kit the cute little sequin jar.

So who would have guessed that there were so many D-lish products that could be used to stamp with or used as masks?! You still have time to enter the challenge over on the Facebook group, to join click the button and check out all the wonderful challenges.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jane Carrie | Guest Designer Project Share

Well, they say that good things come to those who wait & I am very excited to be sharing my projects here at D-lish.

For my first project I have actually made some birthday cards. I don’t know about the rest of you but I find it hard to come up with male cards. And now I have a 14yo boy it gets even trickier.  A little while back I really enjoyed making some panel cards. Only thing was, they weren’t very practical as teenage cards as mostly they now give money or gift cards. Also, I didn’t like how they wouldn’t stand up if you like to display your birthday cards when you get them.  Enter, D-Lish. The bitty bags & the cardfetti were the perfect match. Then I finished them off with some twine, enamel dots, flairs & washi tape. A little tag to write your message with your money or gift card behind, a stand at the back & all done! These are so easy & love that they are just a little bit different.

For my second project I wanted to match all the lovely bright colours in my daughters quilt with her new black glasses. I had so much fun putting this one together. I have used a Scrap FX hash stamp, some white punchinella, muslin, orange pip berry stems, an arrow clip, butterfly flair, resin frame & bird, an assortment of flowers (roses, carnation & forget me nots), a wooden leaf button & pinkfresh arrows.

Lastly I decided to make a lo using last months JAP kit. Miss M loves my mail almost as much as I do but I will spare you the selfie photo I found on my phone with the straw up her nose! Needless to say, the straw has not found it’s way onto any of my layouts.

I hope you have enjoyed my little offerings & thanks again to Amanda & D-lish.Hope you have a great day..Jx

Sharing for the last time....

Hello crafters!
I'm here today to share my last
projects for D-lish Scraps.
What an amazing journey it's been!

For this layout, I chose a simple, graphic
style. I added some mist to my background
and lots of layers!

I used some enamel dots to spread around the page as
well as some chipboard word arrow
flair button from past kit, Aztec Dreams and
some cardfetti

How cool are the new dip dye tags?
Definitely a fave in my stash!

My next layout is a bit different!

I used some acrylic paint for the background as well
as torn paper strips and of course, an assortment
of  D-lish goodies!

pip berry stem and an assortment of
paper roses for the embellishment cluster.
I really wanted to add the sweet little resin deer
and enamel dots but they were the wrong colour.
Solution? I coloured them in with alcohol markers!
Such a fun way to alter embellies!

Thanks so much for taking a look at my projects!
I really hope you have enjoyed them.
Thanks to Amanda and the team for a fabulous six
months. Can't wait to meet
the new team soon!

Smile

Hello D-lish fans!
I'm here to share my last projects for D-lish Scraps.
It's been such an amazing experience to
work alongside some super talented ladies
as well as a very awesome Boss lady!
Hopefully, you can join me tomorrow as well
for my final share!

Tonight, I'm sharing this fun layout:

I spread a dollop of acrylic paint with a palette knife
for my background and added some D-lish goodies!

I used a beautiful wild rose in coral and teamed
it with the very beautiful word arrows
I used some alcohol markers to colour in the chipboard.

For this cluster, I used my favourite resin birds
as well as the new addition to the store, dip dye tags
how cool are they???
I had to add some punchinella - it's such a versatile
product! I love checking out the
Past kits and bits section in the store! It's such a great place to find that
perfect addition to your craft project. Just like
this cute little flair from the Tutti Frutti kit.

Thanks so much for dropping by!
See you all tomorrow!

40 | Sue Plumb

Hello again D-lish fans! Well here I am for the final share of my term here at D-lish Scraps, so I thought I would indulge myself. Today I am sharing a layout I created featuring a photo from my recent 40th birthday celebrations. And as the layout was about me, I used some of the things that make me happy when I create!

Here is what I came up with...

The background was created using a mix of Dylusions ink spray and Heidi Swapp Color Shine on a Heidi Swapp paper. Once dry, I had fun adding lots of luscious layers.

Here you can see - Freckled Fawn wood chip arrow word; silver spot tissue paper and teal chevron tissue paper (both from Just Add Paper kits); glitter washi tape; 2 printed washi tapes; silver punchinella; grey hand-dyed muslin; teal paper doily and sequins (from the loose pastel mix).

Yes. That really is 10 different D-lish products packed into that small space!

Here are the same layers again, topped with another Freckled Fawn wood chip arrow word. (I inked all the wood pieces I used on this layout with black ink.)

How stunning is this printed veneer butterfly? (I couldn't have a layout with so many of my favourite things without adding at least one butterfly.) You can also see one of the areas where I stamped using the Scrap FX Hash Stamps. The 'celebrate' word is from the Journal It's Cardfetti - His Birthday sheet.

Another Cardfetti word here, as well as a journal spot and flair button from this month's 'Take Flight' Just Add Paper kit. (Despite the full kit being sold out, there are still many extra Kit Bits including the flair set, available in store HERE) Also pictured is one of my fave (ever) Wood Veneer Stars

Thank you so much for stopping by today, and for all the lovely feedback I have had from the D-lish customers during the past 6 months. It really is greatly appreciated.
And to Amanda and my fellow Design Team gals - thanks for your friendship & support during our term, it has been a pleasure and an inspiration working with all of you.
(I won't be going too far though - I will always be a D-lish customer and will see you in the Scrap Suite!)
Thanks again, happy scrapping! X
