Birthday Girl Layout + Retreat Packing by Amanda Lawrence

I was fortunate enough to spend 4 days attending the Colour Blast retreat on the weekend just gone. Best friends + creative time + waaay too much yummy food = all a girl could ever want!

Today I'm going to share one of the layouts I created plus a little 'behind the scenes' peek on how I prepare when scrapping away from home.

Being someone who likes to be organised ... maybe a little too much lol ... I like to pre-plan my layouts and make 'kits' for myself. I find this eliminates all the wasted time spent digging through my stash and trying to decide exactly what it is I want to scrap. It also prevents taking great piles of stuff that I ordinarily won't touch. Lets face it, it's not much fun putting it all back away again when you get home. That in itself can require another holiday to get over!

To make my kits I use a 5x7 plastic container and a 12x12 pouch labelled accordingly. This may seem a little OTT but when you have several kits it's easy to work out what goes with what. I begin by selecting my photo and papers and then get an idea of how I want to use them. Sometimes I may print off a sketch, other times I have an idea to run with. I knew I wanted some cut files for this one so I got my silhouette and got cutting. I then grab a range of embellishments that go with my layout. I be sure to put in more than I need and make sure I cover all the bases. I also type up my journalling so it's all ready to go.

Here is the finished page:

Other than the hand stitching, this layout actually came together quite quickly. Having a limited selection of embellishments that all worked with my page eliminated all the digging through boxes.

I used one of the gorgeous lace doilies as a photo mat, they really add a lovely softness to any page. My main cluster included a selection of paper flowers, some resin flowers for varying texture and a heart patch and tassel from the current JAP 'Pretty in Pink' kit.

The top cluster had a repetition of elements plus a resin bird and flair button.

Lastly, I added my title with a few more flowers and a stunning sequin bow.

You can find all of these goodies and more in the store:

I hope I have inspired you today. Whether it be through my layout or maybe a rethink of how you approach your packing next time you head out to a retreat or crop.

'just like old times' by Nicolee Cable

Hi all
Hope your week is travelling well?

I'm up again on the blog for the last time
for this DT period and I just want to say, I have
been totally privileged to be show casing all that
D-lish has to offer.  It has been a blessing and such fun to
fill this role and I want to thank Amanda for having such
faith in me!

I wanted to do a mono-chromatic layout this time, using
D-lish embellishments and mixed media inks, paints and texture.
The lovely people in this shot are very special to us and
this was the first time catching up with them for a very long time.

After using the Honeycomb Crunch stencil with
texture paste in the back ground, I dripped and painted with different
coloured blue inks and paints.
I then used the following embellishments to
enhance the layout and my blue theme:

...and the stunning elegance bloom!

and finally I've placed a Journal It's -Tab Bag
just poking out the top.

Like I said, it's been a privilege to showcase D-lish's embellishments,
I really hope I've inspired you to think outside the box and
discover all the wonderful goodies you can find
over at the D-lish store.
Pop on over there and support this wonderful Aussie business.

Take care and I'm sure I'll see you around online.
Happy scrapping
Nicolee

'K + B + N' by Belinda Griffin

Hi All

Belinda back with you today to share a pink layout inspired by the fabulous March Just Add Paper kit, more specifically, those gorgeous vellum butterflies!

A pink inspired layout seemed perfect for a girly, friendship based page! A whole lot of fussy cutting of the vellum butterflies and some mixed pink patterned paper trimmed to fit behind them for some colour was the basis for this page.

With a bunch of butterflies already embellishing the layout I kept my embellishment clusters around my photo nice and simple- those puffy glitter hearts speak for themselves really! And who doesn't love a pretty bow.

A simple title seemed fitting for this layout so our initials written with pink puffy alphas and the fabulous wood veneers crosses used as & symbols. Some of the cute pink pearls from the just add paper kit mixed in with the butterflies was the final finishing touch.

Thank you as always for stopping by today

"Love You" by Anthea

Hello all.  This is my last share with you as part of the current design team here at D-lish scraps.  I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks so much for having me.  I have had a blast working along side such a beautiful and talented group of ladies who I have come to call friends - led of course by the lovely Amanda.

This layout, I would have to say, is inspired by my fellow DT member Nicolee. To say I love her work is an understatement.  The colour and texture in her work is amazing and every time I see a LO of hers, I just want to touch it.  I hope you get a similar feeling looking at mine.

This LO is all about the background (other than the photos of course) and I went to town with this.  I used the abstract wave stencil and a gelato to create the green waves. I then used some gold texture paste with another D-lish stencil, that I got from a past JAP kit, and dried that with my heat gun to make it bubble and pop.  I then sprinkled sequins over my LO and stuck on a few resin glitter dots and some mini rosebuds to create even more texture.

I then added my photos, matted with a piece of patterned paper I found in my 'left over bits box' and a few little pieces of washi tape and popped in a gorgeous gold doily for good measure.

I then simply added a title and a couple of cute little bird charms and a little cabochon to tie it all together.  I was going to put a little something on the cabochon, but decided to leave it as it is for now.  I can always add something later if I want.  ;)

I really love how this LO came together.  Green and gold are not my usual colours, but for some reason I think they work with these photos of my parents on Christmas day.  Actually now that I think about it - the background is really imitating the Christmas tree in the background of the photo of my Mum.  My subconscious must have done that because it was certainly not intentional.

Thank you to each and everyone of you for your support to me here at D-lish and for all your kind comments on my creations over the last 6 months.  Until next time - have fun and take care.

Hugs
Anthea

"Remember this" by Malinda Gardner

My last share for March. OMG where have the last three months gone!!!
My last share so I thought I would try something a little different.
I know it probably doesn't look that different to my usual style but it is quite different for me.

For this page I simply grabbed one of my Just Add Paper kits, in this case it was the ?????? kit, opened it up and got scrapping. Everything except what I used on my background is from the kit.
How perfect is that????!!! That's why I love D-lish...everything goes together perfectly.

So what's so different about this page for me? Well I don't normally use patterned paper on my pages and I struggle with neat lines. But that's what I did with this page, I used the blue spot paper to matt my photo and then added the Journal card to the right.

Next came the embellishments. Vellum stars, raw wood veneer crosses, arrows (individually made by the boss of D-lish Amanda Lawrence 😲) arrows, sequins and a super gorgeous silver sequined bow. All but the bow were from the kit.

A bit of journalling and I'm done. How quick was that???

"Meeting Miss Isla", by Amanda H.

Hi D-lish Scraps fans....

So... I started the month with a double, then decided to keep that going!!!! Why not? I had so many cute photos of the girls meeting their new baby cousin, well, I just had to!

These colours are soft and pretty; a match made in heaven for D-lish products!

There are a couple of main clusters, where you will see the D-lish goodies in the close ups, but also note how I used the beautiful D-lish Lace doilies behind each group of photos?
Have you stocked up yet? #everyoneneedspaperlacedoilies

In this cluster, there is:
the magnificent Elegance Bloom
a enamel heart, from one of the Enamel Hearts sets,
and the camera from a past Just Add Paper Kit.

In this cluster I have used:
another paper leaf,
another resin flower,
all in pink and aqua tones.

Note: The bling dots are some old ones from my stash and so are the beaded aqua strips, but seriously, the D-lish range of enamel dots are awesome! I need to get more in pink and aqua. #favouritecolourcombo

Thanks for looking! Maybe I need to set a DOUBLE PAGE challenge in the Scrap Suite one month???

One Smile at a Time

Well l can't believe how quick this year is going already. And it's already my second last share with you all at D-lish Scraps.
I'm sure having a great time, and it's a great team to be apart of too.

This month I'm sharing with you all a layout that l have done on a holiday we took last Summer in QLD. It's a nice bright page with lot's of colour.

Hope you like it.

I used a piece of White Mixed Media Cardstock, and sprayed randomly with Bubblegum pink Dylusions Paint Sprays.

Then l layered some pretty papers from my stash, to add some layers for my background.

I added one of these gorgeous D-lish lace doilies  over my layers, then l added my photo, which l mounted onto some matching Cardstock and stuck it down.

Then l added lot's of pretty embellishments. A Butterfly Resin, a button, a Cherry Blossom  flower, a Fantasy Bloom flower , a Forget Me Not flower, and a little bow out of my D-lish Scraps JAP KIT.
I added these all in a cluster around my photo. Then l used a Felt Spot Bow and a Charms Creations Emoji that l placed on my layout.

Here are some close up's

I then added a Journal Tab with some journalling, and a Bitty Bow Clip  with a small rose tucked in the top left hand corner of my photo.

I also did a little bit of journalling around my page as well just to document our holiday.

I hope you liked it.

That's it for me today, have a great week and see you all again soon.

Take Care.

Tracey. x

'Adore You' by Sarah Rosse

Hello crafty friends,

Sarah here with you with a mixed media layout using Just Add Paper Past Kit Bits, mainly from the Peaches and Cream kit and the gorgeous D-lish Scraps 'Crosshatch' stencil. The full range of stencil that can be purchased instore can been seen here. The crosses on this layout were also from a mini stencil that was included exclusively in a past Just Add Paper kit. A subscription to the Just Add Paper kits is a great way to collect embellishments but also those exclusive products, such as the mini stencils that are not sold seperately. For some of the past kit bits, you can click here to see what is still available in store.

The background for this layout was actually a sheet of cardstock that I was adding bits of paint too over time - the pink Dylusions paint was spread from a previous project, the stencilled crosses were using up some paint I had used (don't like wasting anything!) and the black splatters were also using up paint from a previous layout where I had gotten too excited with the quantity. This photo of my mum and oldest son, taken many years ago now on the day of his baptism was perfect for this page as it was a black and white print. It went well with the colourful, busy background. The patterned paper it is backed on to was from my stash.

Lets take a closer look at some of the embellishments used....the wooden title 'Adore you' is propped up by glue dots to give some dimension. The flowers and sequin bow are a nice touch to the layout.
The Crosshatch stencil was used with Colour Blast 'tangerine' paste which picked up on the colours of the embellishments.

Thanks for joining me and see you again later in the month.

sunshine - by Nicolee Cable

Good Monday morning lovelies

I hope you had a lovely creative weekend?

Anyway, I'll be straight into it with my 'pastel' layout for todays post.
This is out of my comfort zone somewhat, all girly and pretty and lacey
but I think I've done it justice.  D-lish embellishments make it so easy
though don't you think and it's always good to get out of your comfort zone!

The quote was just an off-cut from a piece of patterned paper.

I have 'smeared' acyrlic paint on the background
as a base for the layout,
then I used one of each of the different size doilies, to make
three different focal points...

...then I used the following embellishments to decorate each zone:

.....

magnolia flower
and

I hope you enjoyed this layout and have a wonderful week everyone.  Make sure you pop
on over to the D-lish store and check out all the yummy products on offer.

Take care
Happy Scrapping

Two | Michelle Stokes

Hi Everyone, Michelle here today. The layout I'm sharing has been inspired by one of our newest Cyber crop challenges and our current Inspiration Board.

I've chosen a sweet photo of Leila at her 2nd birthday a few years ago. It's nice to step back in time and remember how little and cute she was back then.

The challenge I've played along with is the "Tic Tac Toe" set by Anita. I chose 2 joining lines to play with by including Bling, Journalling, Bunting & Twine along with Flowers, Ink/Sprays & Doilies. To create the bunting I've used a mix of pink pattern papers from my stash, cut them all in different lengths and widths and fishtailed the bottoms. Next I added some Lace doilies and then sewed it all to the page across the tops of each piece. I then strung some twine along the tops and stapled into place, and popped the photo piece up with some fun foam for dimension. After this was all in place I worked on some clusters of embellishments using all my favourites from the D-lish store

Here's some close ups..

The top cluster is quite small and simple, 2 Forget me Not flowers, a resin flower and some D-lish dots..

Then in this cluster I've used some more Forget me Not flowers twisted together and tucked under the photo layer, a piece of coloured wire twisted into the shape of a 2, a Flair button, another resin flower and more glitter enamel dots

Repeating embellishments from the previous 2 clusters, and a closer look at the splatters created with the exclusive stencil from the March Pretty in Pink Just Add Paper kit, and some other mists from stash

This cluster was a little larger and consists of a Sequin butterfly, Flair button, paper & resin flowers, some stamens and more D-lish dots.. I'm slightly obsessed with them lol

Then lastly a very quick title using some white Puffy Alphabet stickers, and a piece of Ombre Wordfetti.

That's all from me today. I hope this has inspired you in some way.
Be sure to stop by the Scrap Suite on Facebook this weekend to check out all the other new challenges the Design Team have set for you all.

Until Next time, Happy Scrapping!
