Amanda Lawrence - June DT Share

Can you believe that in just 2 short days June will be over?!?! Half the year gone and now we're on the quick downhill slide to Christmas {eep yes I did just say the dreaded 'C' word}
Things have been crazy here behind the scenes at D-lish. End of June means end of financial year so it was time to get those dreaded accounts in order. For the record, I will NEVER EVER leave it that long again! Lesson learnt people, lesson learnt! lol

I haven't had any time to scrap, and I am really in need of some creative time, but I do have some lovely D-lish laden pieces that I haven't shared before which I'd love to share with you all today :)

First up is 'Something so sweet about you'

This layout is based on sketch #94 from Inspired Blueprints. I've used papers from Jilibean Soup and lots of yummy D-lish products to embellish.

I used my MoTEX tape writer to print some text for my mixed typography title. I simply cut 'v's in the end to give them a banner effect. The large cluster is made up of a Vintage Rose in sky, a yellow Forget-Me-Not and a few resin pieces from the grab bags

I made the title area by inking and stamping over a word sticker inside a heart shaped mask I made. When I was finished I peeled the sticker off and outlined the shapes in black pen. The chipboard word 'sweet' is from Memory Maze and is available in the store. We have a large range of these wonderful little words available. They range in price from 60-80 cents and can be purchased singularly. I also used one of the Memory Maze little chipboard hearts which I covered with washi tape.

I added some splatters of ink and some scattered sequins to the background. This smaller embellishment cluster has yet another Memory Maze chipboard piece, the butterfly which are also available in the store. I finished off the cluster with another Forget-Me-Not and a Petite resin rose from the grab bag.

The next layout I'd like to share is titled 'Little artist at work'

This layout is also based on an Inspired Blueprints sketch #96.

I've used a Small Rose and a Felt Blossom as part of my embellishment cluster on this layout. You can also just see in the background a few of the 3mm Rainbow Rhinestones that I added to the splatters.

Here you can see the Bold Black Chevron Arrow washi which as you can see makes a bold statement. I simply cut around the arrow shape printed on the tape. This pattern was so popular we have restocked it in the store just this week. There are other colours available too in the same design.

More MoTEX strips to make up my title. Can you tell I love this effect?!

My last layout I'd like to share with you today is called 'Feel the waves wash over your toes'

I used hardly any patterned paper at all for this layout. Instead I went for a mixed media style background with layers of stencilling, stamping and flicks of mist.

The main embellishment cluster is made up of a mini doiley which I have dyed yellow to match, a single bloom called Sublime in aqua, a starfish cabochon and some sequins.

I went for hidden style journaling and the Journal It's Library cards and Library pocket template are perfect for this. Using the template you can make the pocket out of patterned paper to match your page.

For photos of a day at the beach, the 'Hello Sunshine' flair from the Speech Bubble pack was the perfect finishing touch!

Thanks for stopping by

DT Share with Michelle

Hi everyone,

It is my turn up on the blog today.  I have been super excited by all the new products that have arrived in store over the last few months.  Most of all the awesome Freckled Fawn products!

My first layout to share is a cute one using some gorgeous resin pieces, canvas cuts and finished with sequins and a library journaling card.  Often when using pieces like journaling cards I will split the card into halves and tuck the pieces under my pattern papers on my layout separately (as you can see below).  This is a really good way of using up larger embellishments on your layouts.

My next layout is one of my favourites!  I love the photos of my girls hanging out together here in my photos.  I also love the bold bright colours which of course are so easy to do with D-lish embellishments.  Have you seen the cute sequin bows and hearts in the store?  They are just gorgeous.  I have finished this layout off with some cute resin pieces, doilies, pins and of course Freckled Fawn!

My next layout has those canvas cuts again.  Honestly, I can't get enough of them - they are so easy to use and so versatile on both girly and masculine layouts.  What else can I say I just love them.  To adhere them to your layouts you can either glue them, attach them with glue dots or one of my favourite ways is to staple them.  For those who know me well I am notorious for not sticking down things properly on my layout so I find using a stapler to be a quick fix and it also means things don't FALL off my layouts anymore.

My last layout I have used some more of the gorgeous Freckled Fawn products I just love how you can use the frames to frame up some embellishments.  I have also added some sequins to my background for extra added interest.  On this layout I have actually used my tape runner to add a wee bit of stickiness to the sequin before adding some stitching for extra interest.

That's all from me today but I hope you have enjoyed seeing my latest D-lish creations as much as I have enjoyed creating them and sharing them with you all.

Take care
Michelle

Raquel Bowman - June Design Team Share

Raquel's Blog: A Blessed Life

Today I have three pages to share with you using some absolutely awesome D-lish Scraps products. I loved all my new goodies I had to play with this month and couldn't help myself and ended up placing another order when the gorgeous sequin bows and hearts arrived in store too :)

I mean just look at the colour combo of washi that I ordered! This seriously is just the best and I could happily just sit and look at it all day, lol.

Anyways, I'm here to share so here is my first page. I created this page for the June Show us Your Stuff challenge. The challenge was to use the quote 'Laugh as much as you breathe and love as much as you live'. I created the title on my silhouette cameo and designed the page purely with Heidi Swapp papers and my D-lish goodies.

Here is a close up of the sequin trim, so easy to manipulate into flourishes and shapes. Also the seam binding, viola and resin forget me not.

Another close up, you can see here I have used a heart button and another resin forget me not (love both these items).

recently brought the 'Atlantic' range by Studio Calico and thought that the papers would compliment my D-lish goodies beautifully.

This layout was completed 'just cos' and doesn't fit any particular challenge or theme, but of course features a photo of my little girl. I have so many photos to get through with scrapping that I am so pleased that I am slowly getting through my storytelling, one layout at a time :)

Here are some close ups:

I used the gorgeous peach triangle and gold repeating chevron washi, white bitty blooms and some gold sequins from the bright sequin mix.

More bitty blooms and sequins

I love love love anything metallic at the moment, these Freckled Fawn arrows compliment the page beautifully.

I created arrows with the gold triangle washi by cutting large triangles.

Lastly is this 'Maggie' inspired pin which you can create using goodies that are available in the D-lish Store! How awesome is that?!? Want to know how? I have taken some pictures of the process I followed so you can head into the D-lish store and stock up ready to create your own :)

Mini Tutorial - 'Maggie' inspired pin

Products needed from the D-lish Store:

1. Take a bobby pin, filigree flower centre and a medium resin rose.

2. Apply an adhesive like glossy accents to the back of the resin rose and adhere it to the filigree centre. Allow to dry.

3. Apply adhesive to the bobby pin and stick it to the back of the flower centre.

And there you have it, a gorgeous clip! What I love is that you can customise the clips to suit your colour combos by the resin rose that you choose :)

My last page is one I created based on the June 1st Sketch at Stuck! Sketches. I find sketches are a great 'go to' when I am finding that my mojo has vanished momentarily. You can see the sketch here. I used the gorgeous new Rhonna range from My Minds Eye, these bright papers worked so beautifully with my D-lish embellishments that I have chosen here.

D-lish Products Used:

Other Products Used:
Cardstock: White, Black
Papers: My Mind's Eye
Embellishments: My Minds Eye Enamel dots and stickers, October Afternoon mini market alpha stickers.
Other: Staples, Tiny Attacher, Mister Huey Mist, sewing machine and silver thread.

I am loving the new sequin bows, so so adorable.

The Freckled Fawn veneers are so easy to attach with a stapler. I also cut a small banner out of the silver glitter tape as I felt I needed a splash of silver on that side of the page.

Well I decided to create another little how to as the pegs and chipboard chevrons were just calling out for a bit of bling! :)

Using glitter tape to alter pegs and chipboard

1. Cut a strip of tape to the size of the item you wish to alter and peel off the backing to reveal the adhesive.

2. Adhere your items to the tape and using a craft knife trim off the excess tape.

Here it is used on my layout to hold my hidden journalling.

That's it! Easy Peasy :) I also used this for the chipboard chevron.

Well I hope my layouts and techniques have inspired you to shop at the D-lish store and stock up on all the lovely new goodies and, of course, to scrap :)

See you all again next month with some more layouts!

Take care,

Raquel, xxx

June Design Team Share With Sharmaine

Ekk! June is half gone and the year is on it’s run home!
This month has already been jam packed for me
and I was fortunate enough to be able to meet up with
the gorgeous Amanda (Boss Lady at D-lish Scraps)
while I was at the Scrapbook Expo in Brisbane.
Loved being able to talk about all the fabulous things she sells
and to see her passion for this industry was inspiring!
Today I have three pages to share with you,
the first one I started while I was in Brisbane.
I had packed a zip lock bag full of D-lish Scraps products
along with some rolls of washi tape
and when my first night in Brisbane I played
(turned out it was the only time I had to play but I made the most of it!)

IMG_7150
I painted up some Freckled Fawn Wood Chip Hearts Pack

IMG_7152

I added some Fern Leaves and a green heart button from the Bright Hearts Button Mix Pack

IMG_7154

I added a Large Resin Rose, in Apple,
and topped it with a “hi”
from the Freckled Fawn Wood Chips Clouds pack

IMG_7155

A dash of Rainbow Heart Flair and two lots of washi tape,
Grey Two Tone Spot and Lime Bold Chevron Arrows to finish it off.

IMG_7156

My next page I loved loved loved making.

IMG_7158

I enjoyed playing with one of my favourite things…
PAINT!
I painted my background with watercolours and added some colour to this Cream Resin Chrysanthemum with some watered down gesso, mist and water colours.

IMG_7163

I’ve had this Shabby Chiffon Rose, in Gold, for a long time now and was glad to finally see it on a page, instead of hoarded!

IMG_7164

I just love the 3.5 inch Paper Doilies and I think they will be an addition to many pages in days to come! Love the Heart Flair too!

IMG_7165

I used my Motex Writer and some yellow tape to create the title and added some paint to a Resin Rose

IMG_7166

I also added some watered down gesso to the Aqua Triangle washi tape, because it was too bold for this page.

IMG_7169

And my very last page for you today is this fun one

IMG_7173

I’ve used a Freckled Fawn Wood Frame for my journaling

IMG_7174

And added some flair, Rainbow Star and a Day of the Week.
I’ve also pulled out some more Resin Blooms, for those little dots of red.

IMG_7175

Hope there is something in my pages that inspires you to create.
Have fun and happy scrapping.
Sharmaine
